Rachel Cherington has extensive experience in complex commercial litigation. Before joining Saxena White, Ms. Cherington was a partner with a boutique litigation firm in New York City, where she obtained substantial experience representing hedge funds, banks, law firms, and individuals in high-stakes securities, corporate governance, and contract disputes. She has particular experience litigating matters involving corporate governance, federal securities laws, and sophisticated financial transactions.
In recent years, Ms. Cherington has focused her practice on appellate work. She has been a key member of the appellate teams in multiple successful appeals in the Second and Ninth Circuits, including most recently a Ninth Circuit appeal on behalf of investors in Snap Inc., resulting in reversal of the District Court’s dismissal of the case ($65 million settlement). Issues addressed in these appeals have included Article III standing, pleading standards under the PSLRA, discovery sanctions, pretrial orders, and other complex questions of federal and state law.
